VigorIPPBX Training Guide ep. 02

4. Setting up VigorIPPBX 2820n and Extensions in the Branch Office:

Below are steps for setting up the VigorIPPBX 2820n and parts:

  1. Set up Internet connections
  2. Set up phone extensions
  3. Record Greeting
  4. Set up Hunt Groups
  5. Set up PSTN Trunk
  6. Set up SIP Trunk
  7. Set up Time and Date
  8. Set up Office Hours

4.1. Set up Internet Connections

To set up Internet connections, refer to the Quick Setup Guide for VigorIPPBX 2820 series: http://www.i-lan.net.au/downloads/VigorIPPBX2820/Documents/QSG-VigorIPPBX+2820-V1.0.pdf

4.2. Setup phone extensions

Set up Ext. 301:

  1. Login to (X2820n). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.200.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> Extension and click 41-50

3. Click index #50

       5. Tick SIP1 to SIP6, and PSTN (In our example, we set no restrictions for each extension so they can access any trunk)

6.Click OK to complete

Ext. 302:

  1. Log into (X2820). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.200.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> Extension and click Index #1

4.  Enter Extension Number 302

       5. Enter Display Name 302

       6. Enter Password 302

       7. Enter Voice mail Password 302

       8. Tick SIP1 to SIP6, and PSTN (In our example, we set no restrictions for each extension so they can access any trunk)

9. Click OK to complete

10. With VigorPhone 350 connected, login to it. Username: admin, no password
In our example, IP Address: 192.168.200.11

11. Click SIP Accounts and click ID #1

13. Enter Registration ID 302

        14. Enter Display Name 302

        15. Enter Password 302

        16. Enter Registration Server 192.168.200.1

        17. Enter Authentication Name 302

        18. Click OK to complete

Ext. 303:

  1. Log into (X2820). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.200.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> Extension and click Index #2
  3. Enable Internal Phone Extension Active
  4. Click Allow Registration from WAN
  5. Enter Extension Number 303
  6. Enter Display Name 303
  7. Enter Password 303
  8. Enter Voice mail Password 303
  9. Tick SIP1 to SIP6, and PSTN (In our example, we set no restriction for each extension so they can access any trunk)
  10. Click OK to complete
  11. Run DrayTek Soft Phone on the PC/Notebook
    If it is not available on the PC/Notebook please download then install from the link below.

12. Click Setting tab and click Add

softphone_02        13. Type SIP Proxy address: 192.168.200.1

If the PC/Notebook registered is from LAN side please enter Router’s IP Address
In our example (X2820n)’s IP address is 192.168.200.1
If it is registered from WAN side please enter WAN IP Address
In our example (X2820n)’s WAN IP address is 192.168.1.18

       14. Enter Display name 303

       15. Enter Extension number 303

       16. Enter Authentication ID 303

       17. Enter Password 303

       18. Click OK to complete

4.3. Record Greeting

For the office hours greeting:

  • Connect a phone to the (X2820n)’s FXS port directly.
  • Dial **** to access IVR system.
  • After hearing the prompt, dial 1155# to start recording the Prompt 5 for the office hours greeting.
    In our example, recording is: recording,  please press 2, to re-record
    “Welcome to Ice Cream Inc., For sales please press 1, for product support please press 2, to speak to an operator please press 0. Alternatively, dial the extension you require if you know it.”
  • When you finish the recording, press #
  • To play back your recording press 2. To re-record, press 3. To save your recording, press 1.
  • After saving Prompt 5 recording, to hear it again dial 1255#
  • If you are still not satisfied with the result, dial 1155# to record it again.

For the non-office hours greeting:

  • Connect a phone to the (X2820n)’s FXS port directly.
  • Dial **** to access IVR system.
  • After hearing the prompt, dial 1156# to start recording Prompt 6, for the non-office hours greeting.
    In our example, the recording is:
    “Thank you for calling Ice Cream Inc., We are currently closed. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 9AM to 6PM.  Please call back during our office hours so that we may assist you. Thank you for calling Ice Cream Inc Australia, goodbye.”
  • When you finish the record, press #
  • To play back your recording, press 2. To re-record your greeting, press 3. To save your recording, press 1.
  • After saving Prompt 6, to hear it again dial 1256#
  • If you still not satisfied with the result, dial 1156# to record it again..

DrayTek provides 11 prompts in total for recording. Prompt 5, Prompt 6 and Prompt 11 respectively are reserved for office hours greeting, non-office hours greeting and music on hold. You may record your own additional prompts for purposes such as product advertisement, festive/events greetings, season greetings or Christmas office hours. Below are the access codes for recording additional prompts.

4.4. Set up Hunt Groups

  1. Log into (X2820n). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.200.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> PBX System
  3. Click Hunt Group

4. Click Index #1

2820_huntgroup_02        5. Type any name (in our example we use Support) in Hunt Group Name

6. Type any number (in our example we use 300) in Hunt Group Extension

7. Select the extension 302 and click Add button

8. Select the extension 303 and click Add button

In our example, ext.302 & 303 are the extensions for Support group

4.5. Set up PSTN Trunk

  1. Log into (X2820n). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.200.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> Line Setting
  3. Click PSTN Trunk

image19        4. Make sure Office hours answer mode & Non-Office hours answer mode are selected to Auto Attendant

        5. Click OK to complete

4.6. Set up SIP Trunk

  1. Log into (X2820n). Username: admin, no password In our example,
    IP Address: 192.168.200.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> Line Setting
  3. Click SIP Trunk

4. Click Index #1

7. Type your SIP provider name (in our example, Internode) under Profile Name

8. Type your SIP domain (in our example, sip.internode.on.net) in Domain/Realm

9. Type your SIP proxy (in our example, sip.internode.on.net) in Proxy

10. Type your SIP phone number (in our example, 0288405177) in Display Name

11. Type your SIP account name in Account Number/Name

12. Click Authentication ID and type your ID in Authentication ID

13. Enter your password in Password

14. Change Expiry Time to 10 mins

        15. Make sure Office hours Answer mode & Non-Office Hours answer mode are all selected to Auto Attendant

        16. Click OK to complete

4.7. Set up Time and Date

  1. Log into (X2820n). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.200.1
  2. Go to System Maintenance >> Time and Date
  3. Select Time Zone to GMT +12:00 for  Auckland office
  4. (Optional) Click Enable Daylight Saving if necessary
  5. Click OK to complete

4.8. Set up Office Hours & Auto Attendant

  1. Log into (X2820n). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.200.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> PBX System
  3. Click Office Hours

        5. Set Office Hours End hour 18:00

        6. Click Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, and Fri for Office Hours

7. (Optional) Set up Holiday Setting. For example, January 1-4 for New Year, June 6 for Queen’s Birthday etc.

8. Click OK to complete

        10. Click Auto Attendant Wizard

2820_autoattendant_01        11. Set Operator: Key 0 >> Ring Extension >> Extension 301 (in our example, we set extension 301 as our operator, the ext.301 is on                        bottom of selection page, so drag down to the last option and select index #50)

12. Set Sales Department: Key 1 >> Ring Extension >> Extension 301

        13. Set Support Department: Key 2 >> Ring Hunt Group >> Group 300

        14. (Optional) In the case someone presses the wrong key, redirect to the Operator (in our example appoint key 3~9 to Ex. 301)

15.Click Next to the next page
