DrayTek Vigor2925 Series Router Adopted for TPG EFM Service
TPG is offering a business Ethernet broadband service providing symmetrical data service known as EFM. This service provides the same download and uploads speeds for Internet access and is available in either 10Mbps/10Mbps or 20Mbps/20Mbps plans. More information on the EFM service is available on the TPG website: https://www.tpg.com.au/ethernet
As part of providing this service, TPG requires customers to supply and manage their own router for optimal performance and reliability. The products recommended by TPG for their EFM service are the DrayTek Vigor2925ac router and the Cisco 881 router.
The DrayTek Vigor2925ac router provides a lower cost solution, when compared to the Cisco router, and many features required by small to medium sized businesses. This router is fitted with two Gigabit Ethernet WAN ports and 5 Gigabit LAN ports with multiple subnets. It has a NAT throughput of 300Mb/s which is more than adequate for the TPG EFM service. The two USB ports can be used with 3G or 4G USB modems to provide a backup Internet connection should the primary EFM connection become unavailable. The Vigor2925ac is also equipped IEEE 802.11ac wireless access point which can run 300Mbps at the 2.4GHz band and 1600Mbps at the 5GHz band.
The Vigor2925 series router supports business related features, including support for 50 VPN tunnels, which can be configured for VPN load-balancing or VPN backup when two or more WAN connections are used. It supports 25 x more secured SSL VPN tunnels for remote workers who may work from public places.
Other features to meet your daily office network needs and to bring in more business opportunities include: Bandwidth Management, Quality of Service, VLAN for flexible workgroup management, User Management for Authentication, Route Policy, Central VPN Management, Central AP Management, and Firewall.
