One Management Portal for All
Not only do Vigor routers act as gateways to the Internet, they also provide centralised management platforms to manage all VigorAPs on the LAN. You can check if an AP is online, check usage status, perform firmware upgrades, save configuration backups, or trigger remote reboots. All these can be done without the need to log into each device’s management page.

Automatic Provisioning of VigorAPs

You can save time and technical resources by creating wireless LAN profiles in the Auto Provisioning page of the Vigor router, for these to be uploaded to the VigorAPs when they are connected to the LAN.
A Centralised View of all the Vigor APs
The status monitoring page presents a list of all VigorAPs on the LAN, displaying their IP addresses, operating channels, SSID, number of clients, and firmware versions. This page also highlights APs that are offline.

Wi-Fi Client Load Balancing

You can apply traffic limits to clients of the VigorAPs to prevent overloading and to ensure stable Wi-Fi connections. When traffic thresholds or the number of clients are reached, the AP will disconnect Wi-Fi clients who have the weakest signal or are idle, and stop accepting new Wi-Fi clients.
AP-based Access Point Management (APM)
This application note shows how to set up AP-based Access Point Management (APM) to manage Vigor Access Points.
AP-based APM is suitable for the small-to-medium environments using wired node APs (Node Access Points connected to Root AP using LAN cabling) with no Vigor Router on site.
