What is VigorACS 3 Cloud
VigorACS 3 Cloud is DrayTek’s hosted version of the VigorACS 3 Network Management System (NMS), delivered as a service instead of software that customers install and maintain themselves. It provides centralised, TR-069-based management for DrayTek routers, access points, and switches, allowing administrators to configure, monitor, and maintain their networks from a single web console.
As the core of DrayTek’s SD-WAN solution, VigorACS 3 centralises provisioning and monitoring of edge routers, SD-WAN policies, and WAN/VPN quality metrics, making it suitable for multi-site businesses and MSPs. VigorACS 3 Cloud keeps these capabilities but runs on DrayTek-managed cloud infrastructure, so customers can focus on network design and service delivery rather than server sizing, OS patches, or database maintenance.
From self-hosted ACS to VigorACS 3 Cloud
VigorACS has traditionally been delivered as self-hosted software, installed on customer-owned servers or virtual machines. Many existing DrayTek partners and customers already run ACS in this way and will be able to continue doing so – the self-hosted deployment model remains fully supported.
With VigorACS 3 Cloud, DrayTek is adding a new, DrayTek-hosted deployment option on top of the existing product, not replacing it. The management features and license model are the same ACS 3 that customers already know; the difference is who runs the infrastructure and day-to-day operations.
- Customers who prefer self-hosted ACS can keep hosting ACS on their own servers or VMs, retaining full control over infrastructure, security policies, and upgrade timing.
- Customers who prefer DrayTek ACS 3 Cloud can let DrayTek host and operate the ACS platform on Google Cloud, avoiding server deployment and maintenance effort, while still owning their licenses and device configurations.
In other words, VigorACS 3 Cloud extends the ACS family with a managed cloud option, while self-hosted ACS continues to be available for customers who want or need to run ACS on their own infrastructure.
Why VigorACS 3 Cloud
VigorACS 3 is a centralised management platform for distributed DrayTek networks, bringing streamlined control to a single, cloud-hosted solution.
- SD-WAN orchestration
Centrally manages complex VPN topologies, traffic policies and WAN load balancing from a single interface, so partners can deliver consistent SD-WAN services across many sites without logging into each device individually.
- Centralised firmware and configuration management
Schedules bulk firmware updates, configuration backups and restores across the entire fleet, helping customers maintain security compliance and configuration consistency over time.
Service tiers
VigorACS 3 Cloud is available in two tiers, Cloud Standard and Cloud Premium, differentiated by feature set and node management requirements. Customers can start with Cloud Standard at no cost and upgrade to Cloud Premium when they need advanced management capabilities or expand their deployment.
Cloud Standard – Basic Monitoring (Up to 10 Nodes for One Year)
Cloud Standard provides essential visibility and maintenance tools for small deployments. It is free of charge for up to 10 managed nodes, making it ideal for small sites or users adopting VigorACS 3 for the first time. Users enrolled in Cloud Standard are assigned a Standard role.

For a full list of supported devices and firmware requirements, go to the ACS 3 page. Look for the “Compatible Devices” section under the Overview tab or at the bottom of the page.
Some models do not include SD-WAN features, but you can still manage them with VigorACS 3.
VigorACS 3 Cloud runs on Google Cloud servers in the AU region.
With this setup, customers own their network configurations. HQ manages hosting, operations, and service agreements for the cloud platform, but does not own your devices or configurations. Backups, statistics, and logs are stored in ACS databases in your selected region, and access is controlled through ACS user accounts and roles.
With self-hosted ACS, you or your partners are responsible for installing, securing, and maintaining the software, including the operating system, database, backups, and upgrades, on your own systems. VigorACS 3 Cloud offers the same management and SD-WAN features, but it runs on DrayTek-managed Google Cloud servers. HQ and regional partners handle platform maintenance, so you can focus on setting up your devices and building your network.
Yes, maintenance is scheduled every Sunday from 3:00 to 3:10 AM.
No, services are unavailable during maintenance. However, connected CPE devices will not be affected.

VigorACS 3 Cloud is hosted and operated by DrayTek using Google Cloud infrastructure. This means you do not need to deploy or maintain your own ACS server or VM.
Access depends on the account and assigned user role. With Cloud Premium, user and role management is available, allowing different users to be created and their access to be managed.
Authorised users can manage devices through the VigorACS 3 Cloud account. Cloud Premium provides user and role management, which can be used to control user access and permissions.
The free Cloud Standard service supports up to 10 nodes. For 20–30 devices, you would require Cloud Premium, which has no upper node limit and is charged per node, monthly or annually.
The node calculation is:
Each Vigor Router or SD-WAN Profile = 1 node
Each VigorAP or VigorSwitch = 0.5 node
Therefore, the actual number of billable nodes will depend on the types of devices you have.
Yes. We currently offer 10 free nodes with the Standard Edition. Cloud Standard is free of charge for deployments of up to 10 managed nodes.
Cloud Premium includes user and role management, so access can be assigned to different authorised users.
Yes. Your ACS3 Cloud account will have its own ACS 3 Root Network Name. A router cannot be added to your account unless the correct Root Network Name is known and configured on the device. This helps prevent unauthorised routers from being added to your ACS3 Cloud account.
DrayTek manages the underlying cloud infrastructure, including the hosting, operation, and maintenance of the ACS3 Cloud platform, while customers retain control over their own devices, configurations, and user access.
