NBN VDSL2 Connection Update:
The Vigor2862 and Vigor2762 series routers do not support SOS/ROC functions, however they do fully support bidirectional dynamic SRA. This function is sufficient for the router to maintain a reliable connection to the Internet on an SOS/ROC enabled VDSL2 line. (Read more…)
Overview
The Vigor2762 Series are VDSL2/ADSL2+ modem/routers with integrated Firewalls and VPN. All models feature an embedded xDSL modem with 1 x RJ-11 WAN port which is compatible with all common VDSL and ADSL modulations. On the LAN side is a 4-port 10/100/1000Base TX LAN RJ-45 switch. The 4th LAN port can be configured as a WAN port for an Ethernet WAN connection (e.g. NBN FTTP, FTTC, HFC, Fixed Wireless, Satellite, etc.). This can either be setup as the main Internet connection or it can be configured as a backup/failover link for the xDSL connection. Also featured are 2 x USB ports which can house 3G/4G USB modems as another option for WAN connectivity.

The 2762 Series comes with four models: Vigor2762, Vigor2762n (with 802.11n Wi-Fi built-in), Vigor2762ac (with 802.11ac Wi-Fi built-in), and Vigor2762Vac (with VoIP function and 802.11ac Wi-Fi built-in).
Built-in 11ac Wi-Fi (ac/Vac models)
The Vigor2762ac and Vigor2762Vac models feature integrated 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi delivering throughput up to 867 Mbps. Business-grade Wi-Fi features are also included, such as AirTime Fairness, Router-Assisted Roaming, and Band-Steering which ensure a smooth wireless connection for HD videos, gaming, and internet phones for home.
Firewall & Security
The Vigor2762 Series models all feature a Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) Firewall and flexible filtering rules which can accept or deny packets based on information in the packet header such as source IP, destination IP, protocol and port number, or the packet’s application. IP-based restrictions can be set to filter certain HTTP traffic as well as various application software to help prevent time and network resource wasting on inappropriate network activities.

With an annual subscription to Cyren Web Content Filtering service, websites are classified into categories (such as Social Networking, Gambling, etc.) which can then be blocked or allowed, making content filtering a one click process rather than attempting to go through and check every website one by one. The Cyren service is constantly updated and a free 30-day trial is included in every new router.
Secure Remote Access

The Vigor2762 Series is a perfect solution for teleworkers who need secure remote access to a business network, or for branch offices needing a secure connection to a main office network. Two concurrent VPN tunnels are featured, supporting all industrial-standard protocols including IPsec, L2TP over IPsec, and SSL VPN. Comprehensive VPN authentication methods are also supported. DrayTek also provides the Smart VPN Client as a license-free download for Windows, MacOS, iOS and Android.
Optimising Bandwidth Allocation
The Vigor2762 Series feature bandwidth management to help make the most out of limited bandwidth. The Bandwidth Limit and Session Limit features can be set up to restrict maximum bandwidth or the number of sessions that a host may use to prevent it from hogging the available bandwidth or the router’s other resources. Quality of Service (QoS) allows bandwidth to be reserved for critical clients or time-sensitive applications to ensure their connection quality when traffic is heavy. Inbound and outbound traffic can be classified into up to 4 queues, with bandwidth allocated to each of the queues. There is also a simple option for the Vigor2762 Series to automatically detect VoIP traffic give it top priority, ensuring the best possible call quality when network traffic is busy.
