28-port Layer 2+ Managed 10GbE Switch

The DrayTek VigorSwitch G2282x is a Layer 2+ Managed 10 Gbps switch. It features 24 Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and 4 SFP+ 10Gbps fibre links for uplink/downlink. In addition to the fixed AC power input, the VigorSwitch G2282x offers a DC power input as an additional power source, which helps ensure uninterrupted operation and protects connected devices in the event of an AC power supply failure.

It supports advanced Layer 3 features such as DHCP Server and VLAN Routing. These improve network efficiency and ensure continuous LAN connectivity, even when the gateway is offline, making it an ideal solution for a network experiencing increased traffic demands.

Advanced Layer 2+ Features

DHCP Server & VLAN Routing

Improving LAN Network Sustainability and Efficiency, with or without a Router

In an extensive LAN network, much traffic does not go to the Internet but to the servers within the LAN. For example, IP cameras store videos on the NVR, IP phones register with the PBX, and clients access the file server, among other things.

A Layer 2+ switch with DHCP server and VLAN routing functionalities, positioned to receive traffic before the router, is ideal for distributing the load on your router and ensuring your LAN network operates continuously, even when the router is offline.

The VigorSwitch assigns dynamic IP addresses to as many as 8 VLANs as a DHCP server. With VLAN routing, the VigorSwitch accommodates up to 512 routes.

Bind IP to MAC

Reserve an IP Address for an Important Device

As a DHCP server, the layer 2+ VigorSwitch assists in reserving IP addresses for your essential devices that users access frequently.

ONVIF-Friendly

Recognise ONVIF devices in different VLANs, display surveillance topology, provide UI for video streaming and device maintenance

Centralised Hierarchical View

The VigorSwitch G2282x automatically detects ONVIF devices and displays the topology of connected IP cameras and NVRs.

Image Viewing

Images filmed by IP cameras can be viewed directly within the VigorSwitch G2282x web UI.

Device Management

Basic configuration/maintenance tasks for ONVIF devices such as remote reboot, factory reset and changing network settings can all be done remotely from the VigorSwitch G2282x web UI.

ONVIF Snapshot Alert

Locating Non-Responding IP Cameras Made Easy

Managing a network of IP cameras across multiple locations can be challenging, especially when cameras stop functioning without an easy way to detect or restore them. The VigorSwitch G2282x solves this by regularly pinging ONVIF IP cameras and capturing periodic snapshots. If a camera becomes unresponsive, the switch automatically sends an email alert with the latest snapshot, allowing for quick diagnosis and resolution.

With PoE VigorSwitch models, the switch can also provide first aid by automatically power cycling the particular port to reboot the camera.

IP Conflict Detection & Prevention

Conflict Detection

The VigorSwitch continuously monitors the network environment and alerts the administrator of any IP address conflicts

Conflict Prevention

To enhance network stability, the VigorSwitch identifies misconfigured or malicious IP hosts and blocks them before any damage occurs.

LAN Management

An all-in-one management platform for Vigor devices on the LAN side.

Automatic Device Discovery

Connect a Vigor Switch or AP to the LAN side of the Vigor Router, and the router will auto-discover the device to allow it to be managed.

Provisioning

Basic settings may be done on the Vigor Router, and then provisioned to the managed Vigor Switches or APs.

Monitoring

The Vigor Router provides a centralized view of managed devices, so you can monitor and check the status of Vigor Switches or APs connected.

System Maintenance

Perform factory resets, save/restore configuration backups, or trigger reboots remotely from the Vigor Router’s interface. There is no need to log in to each device’s management page.
